saying hello

secure computing club is a pnw-based collective whose purpose is to help disseminate digital security best practices to organizations and individuals active in the struggle for revolutionary freedom. we believe that digital security and privacy are critically important issues for activists. this is especially true in a time where sophisticated actors target ever wider swaths of activists and marginalized groups for surveillance and scrutiny.

where possible we will recommend open source and "free as in freedom" tools, as we believe they are congruent with the future we're trying to build. we also believe in centering harm reduction through intentional pragmatism. this may result in suggestions for software or tools that are not free and open source, where they are assessed to have more impact.

what's next?

we're aiming to release guides, best practices and other resources over the coming months that are consumable by audiences of a wide level of technical abilities and tailored to the needs of activists in the current political and technological landscape.
